How to open after downloading

After downloading, follow the steps below to install. When you open it for the first time, macOS may ask you to confirm once.

Download and open DMG

Double-click the downloaded DMG file to open the disk image

Drag and drop installation

Drag QuickVibeHost to the Applications folder

Open for the first time

If macOS prompts that the developer cannot be verified, use any of the following methods to open it.

  • Method one Right-click the app → select "Open" → click "Open" in the pop-up window
  • Method two Open the terminal and execute the following command
xattr -cr /Applications/QuickVibeHost.app

Then double-click the app to open it normally

Supported AI tools

support Claude Code and Codex. Appears automatically when an installation is detected, requiring no manual configuration; session status, usage, and approvals are synced to the app and device screens.

Once the integration is turned on within the app, you can view the status, model, number of rounds, cost, and contextual margin for each session.

Codex sessions in the terminal can be automatically recognized; pass-through input and approval processing will be enabled within the app.

Conversations in Codex.app / ChatGPT.app can be identified; when there is approval, it can be processed with one click from the App.

Direct Input

Select a session for direct input. Then device voice and keystroke input will always enter the session, regardless of the current focus of the Mac. It will not simulate the keyboard, activate the window, or grab the clipboard.

Before first use, follow the prompts on the App device page to complete a pass-through component installation; the Codex CLI will also provide guidance within the App.

Free mode when no session is selected: recognized text is injected at the current cursor position. The global shortcut key (default Option+1) is always injected with the cursor, making it easy to enter in ordinary applications.

  • A long press: Press and hold to speak, release the upper screen (can switch to "click to start and stop" long voice mode in the app)

  • Knob long press: Enter text editing mode (cursor movement, voice insertion, word deletion)

Voice operation mode (PTT/long voice) and custom prompts (up to 8 items) are configured on the App device page.

Permission configuration

Used for keyboard simulation (automatic speech-to-text input) and global shortcut keys

  1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility
  2. Click on the lower left corner + button
  3. Find and add in the app QuickVibeHost
  4. Make sure the switch is turn on state

If the permission does not take effect, try removing the app and then adding it again.

Used for voice collection, the system will automatically pop up a request when using it for the first time.

Used to connect to the VE Voice Command. The system will automatically pop up a request when connecting for the first time.

Speech recognition configuration

Local engine (Paraformer) default

Completely offline, the voice does not leave the machine, and the recognition speed is fast. Native hot words (effective in milliseconds), automatic punctuation, and conversion of Chinese numerals to Arabic numerals.

  1. Open App Settings → Voice, click to download the offline model (file-by-file verification, automatic installation)
  2. Optional: additional downloads 2-pass streaming model package (about 525MB), press and hold to speak and the words will be spoken in real time

Native engine requires Apple Silicon (M-series chips).

Doubao Cloud Engine (Volcano Engine) Optional

Streaming recognition supports hot word lists and conversation context (automatically carries nearly 5 recognition results to improve accuracy). Automatic local backup if recognition fails.

  1. access Volcano Engine Voice Console Register and create an app
  2. Get App Key and Access Key
  3. In App Settings → Voice, then fill in and switch engines.

FAQ

What should I do if it prompts "It is damaged and cannot be opened"?

Open the terminal, execute the following line of command and then reopen the app.

xattr -cr /Applications/QuickVibeHost.app
After upgrading from v2.6.0 or earlier, voice input cannot be input/accessibility functions are disabled?

The new version of the app already uses fixed signatures. When you first upgrade from an older version, macOS may treat it as a new app. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and Remove QuickVibeHost, then re-add and turn it on. Continuing the upgrade afterward will usually preserve the license.

The accessibility permission is turned on but the shortcut keys don't work?

In System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, first Remove QuickVibeHost, then re-add and turn it on. It will take effect after restarting the app.

Can't connect to your device?
  • Verify that the device is powered on and not connected to another Mac
  • Make sure your Mac Bluetooth is on
  • Click "Add Device" on the App device page to scan again
  • If you still can't connect, restart your device and Mac Bluetooth
Voice recognition not responding?
  • Local engine: Confirm that the offline model has been downloaded in Settings → Voice (Apple Silicon required)
  • Doubao Engine: Confirm that the App Key / Access Key is valid
  • Confirm that the device is in recording status (the screen displays a recording overlay)
  • Check the reason for the recognition failure on the "History" page and try again with one click.
Passthrough input is not selected for the session?
  • Confirm that vibepty alias is installed (one-click installation in "Input Mode Introduction" on the device page)
  • Claude Code / Codex CLI needs to be started through vibepty before it can be passed through
  • Codex Desktop does not support pass-through input
